A medical clinic was held in Bandarawela on 03.09.2024 with the objective of checking the health status of the street vendors in Bandarawela and providing them with a certificate to confirm their health. Street traders from Bandarawela, Ella, Haputale and Demodara areas participated in this. The medical examination and blood test reports of the mobile trading community who participated on that day were considered and certified by the Bandarawela Medical Officer of Health. Bandarawela Medical Officer of Health Mr. Lakshanth Weerasekera, Bandarawela Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gajendran Kumar, Bandarawela and Haputale Public Health Inspectors, Dehiwala-MountLavinia Public Health Inspector Mr. Gemunu Saliya Perera also participated. Representing The Asia Foundation, Senior Program Officer Mrs. Anuradhi Perera and Mr. Mohammad Raslan (Consultant – SAGP) also participated to observe the occasion. FIAN Sri Lanka Executive Director Mr. Thilak Kariyawasam and other officials also participated in it. The convener of “National Hawkers Federation” of India Mr. Ibrahim Bakri also participated in this event.
