A nutrition awareness program was held at Bandaranaike Secondary School, Udawela, Hasalaka, organized by the Weligepola Joint Community Development Women’s Association with technical support from FIAN Sri Lanka. Around 450 teachers, mothers and students representing grades 7,8,9,10 of the school participated in this program. Several officers representing the Joint Community Development Women’s Association and FIAN Sri Lanka were involved and the main objective was to familiarize the future generation with a quality and nutritious diet. The keynote address of this program will be delivered by food and nutrition lecturer Gemunu Saliya Perera.
