In parallel with the survey conducted in 10 selected districts of Sri Lanka in order to establish the right to food through knowledge generation and advocacy, the first phase of interviews with key informants from the villagers and selected village officials in the domains was conducted in 6 districts. On June 24, 2024, 20 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held at Kar.Kasworld Estate in Nuwara Eliya District.

On June 25, 2024, 23 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held at Galpaya Village Officer Domain, Weligepola Divisional Secretariat, Ratnapura District.

On June 26, 2024, 14 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held at Dambana Grama Niladhari Domain, Mahiyanganaya Divisional Secretariat Division, Badulla District.

On June 28, 2024, 17 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held at Karamba Village Officer Domain, Kalpitiya Divisional Secretariat, Puttalam District.

16 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held on June 29, 2024 at Kuruniyawatta Village Officer Domain, Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat, Colombo District.

On June 26, 2024, 26 villagers participated in the focus group discussion held at East Maddegoda Village Officer Domain, Neluwa Divisional Secretariat Division, Galle District.

Many problems related to poverty and food security faced by the people were discussed here, and through the information obtained, a basic data collection was done for launching community-based projects in the future to ensure the food security of the people.
