In order to strengthen the Citizen Voices to Enhance Demand for Democratic Governance and Accountability at the Local Level- Focus on Safeguarding Citizen Rights of Street Vendors -Sri Lanka, Street vendors meeting took place at Karaveddy Pradesha Sabha on the 24th June 2022 with the participation of high-level officials in the Pradesha Sabha.

In response to the pre-awareness sessions taken place, Karaveddy Street Vendors were able to establish their street vendor association and appointed the relevant committee members.

By the formation of this association, it is expected to strengthen the street vendors’ unity so that they can get collective decisions for their future activities than individual efforts.  In another word, it will consider as the first step to giving due recognition for their profession.
