The Inaugural Ceremony of the World Food Day Educational Exhibition and Practical Workshop 2025 [1st Day]

The inaugural ceremony of the World Food Day Educational Exhibition and Practical Workshop organized by FIAN Sri Lanka, Lanka Organic Agriculture Movement and the Community Resource Protection Center in conjunction with World Food Day 2025 was held today (October 15) at the Community Hall premises at Kachcheriya Junction, Monaragala.

The inaugural ceremony of the World Food Day Educational Exhibition and Practical Workshop organized by FIAN Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Organic Agriculture Movement and the Community Resource Conservation Centre in conjunction with World Food Day 2025 was held today (October 15) at the Community Hall premises at Kachcheriya Junction, Monaragala.

The chief guests on this occasion were Mr. Ajith Agalakada- Member of Parliament for Monaragala District, Mr. Mangala Wijenayake- Additional District Secretary for Monaragala, Director of Agriculture for Monaragala, Farmer Services Officer, Mr. U.G. Ranjith- Coordinator of Monaragala District NGOs, Chairman of the Civil Society Forum, District Skill Development Officer, Assistant Director of District Small Enterprises, Chairman of the District Civil Society Forum, Mr. Hasitha Kumara- Assistant Director of the Youth Services Council, Mr. Gemunu Saliya Perera, Public Health Inspector for Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia of the Public Health Inspectors Association and Buddhist-Hindu-Islamic-Catholic religious representatives participated in this event.

The exhibition is scheduled to be held until 6.00 pm today. It will be held all day tomorrow (October 16) and join hands for better food and a better future, come with your children.
