The Anuradhapura district program to launch the report related to the findings of the survey conducted through the investigation program on household food security implemented by FIAN Sri Lanka was successfully held on January 21 at the Puliyankulam Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Rajarata University, Professor Sanjeevani Ginigandara contributed resources and presented an expert analysis of the report. Especially for that, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Rajarata University received the patronage of Professor Thusitha Weerasekera and the survey report was presented to him and he also made a special evaluation about it.
This survey was conducted in 2024 covering 20 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in 10 selected districts of Sri Lanka to identify the problems of people’s food security, right to food, nutritional needs as well as safe food systems.
FIAN Sri Lanka President Mr. S. Vishwalingam, Food Program Specialist Mr. Fazly Mohammed and Coordinator Mr. Lal Jayasekara made comments in the program.
This was a great opportunity to engage with various stakeholders and foster collaborative efforts for food security and building a sustainable future in Sri Lanka.
