The Bandarawela District Programme to launch the findings and report of the survey conducted through the Household Food Security Investigation Programme implemented by FIAN Sri Lanka was successfully held on 23rd January at the Bandarawela Pastoral Centre.

Subasinghe, Secretary, Haputale Municipal Council, Mr. H.A.D.K., Ella Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary Mr. Hettiarachchi, Former Director of the Bidnuwewa Agricultural Training Center, Professor Nilantha Liyanage, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna, Bandarawela Divisional Secretary, Mr. Roy Jacob, Public Health Inspector, Haputale Municipal Council, Public Health Inspector, Haputale Municipal Council Administration, Coordinators of Ratnapura and Nuwara Eliya NGOs, Head of the Planning Division, Bandarawela Divisional Secretariat, Representatives of Voluntary Organizations, Representatives of the Small Traders and Daily Vendors Association, Representatives of the Uva Provincial Cooperative Department, Representatives of the Uva Provincial Pre-School Education Unit participated for this.
The survey which was conducted to identify the issues related to food security, food rights, nutritional needs and safe food systems of the people was conducted in 2024, covering 20 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in 10 selected districts of Sri Lanka.
On behalf of FIAN Sri Lanka, its President S. Vishwalingam, Food Programme Specialist Fasly Mohamed and Coordinator Lal Jayasekara conducted the program.
This was a great opportunity to connect with various stakeholders and foster collaborative efforts for food security and building a sustainable future in Sri Lanka.
