A field trip for 27 members of street vending societies operating in Panadura, Wadduwa, Balangoda, Haputale, Bandarawela, Ella, Demodara areas as a special opportunity of the program involving mobile and street trading cooperative societies implemented by FIAN Sri Lanka with the financial support of the Asia Foundation 2024/ 09/25 – 26 – 27 was organized to Jaffna for three days.

There they were able to meet and exchange ideas with the members of the Street Vendors Association operating in the Jaffna, Karaveddi area and to meet and exchange ideas with the members of the Street Vendors Association in the Vavuniya area.

The objectives of this field trip were to meet and exchange ideas with the members of the street vending societies spread in different areas, to build goodwill among them, to discuss the legal issues related to street vending and to gain an understanding of the measures that can be taken for it.
