Third World Conference on Gender Equality

Over 700 delegates from over 100 countries representing all regions of the world have now arrived at the Polgolla National Institute of Cooperative Development in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The first day of the conference, which is scheduled to officially open on September 8, 2025, was held yesterday.

First, regional meetings were held, with regional groups from Asia Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and East Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and North America.

This was followed by organizational discussions. Thirteen organizations participated in this and held separate discussions. The discussion was related to the “Why Are We Here” section of the common political action program that has been prepared after extensive discussions.

Next, the conference on sexual diversity began. Discussions were held on the positive impacts of past activities related to the Common Political Action Program and how we move forward.
